A warm wind

I have been following events at Oroville with Juan Browne he was talking about the wild fires they are having. Presumably Santa Annas?

If so the Wikipedia article on Santanas is difficult to understand, for they say winds blow south west, a direction hard enough for seasoned amateurs to envision but they say that more wind joins the fray as descending air falls on them.

How it manages to fall is a secret that meteorology is keeping to itself no doubt. A similar phenomena to global warming perhaps. Odd they don't mention carbon dioxide.

Something like 24 hours ago the winds ended up outside my house. So they must have managed to find out where they were supposed to have been heading eventually. Very pleasant it is too so everyone is happy.

One thing though: Warm weather signals large earthquakes. So presumably the next adjacent polar-points to run the same way in a straight line for one day only will not be a small one. Watch out for small tropical storms they are deceptive.
