The problem with training/teaching people to kill people is that if they go mad and belong to a character set that tends to suicide; they don't care who they kill getting killed.
Now consider the mental stability of a boy who is brought up by a single mother. For the first 15 years of his life he is only loved by a woman that hates the fact she can't have real life because of him. And at the same time he spends the next 15 without the stability of a father.
No wonder people go daft.
