They realised the weather follows a wave. They worked out what Rosby waves did and the analysed the southern oscillation even surmised there is a Northern oscillation too.

But conventional wisdom is no nearer guessing the cause of it all than you are nor a child who has just been born does. They won't be told and they are not looking. If you have your wits about you, you will have experienced the idiocies of fake news and had your eyes opened -perhaps recently.

Hopefully too recently to have become jaded or radicalised into a sect or religious following that caters for souls who prefer ignorance and emotion to reason and logic. There was a signal indicating a large earthquake  over the last few days. You have to be able to spot some weather related things by their absence, so don't be put off if you missed it. I miss these things all the time.

But I don't live in an earthquake active zone so I am alright, it won't affect me. Some people OTOH, should pay more attention. But like I said, I'm alright. They have been warned. So it is not my fault if they went about business as usual.

I'll be damned if I can tell why the three Lows signalled on the second chart down failed to materialise as an earthquake. Either the machinations of the rogue coup caused it, or the insignificant  development of the isobars on the adjacent charts were more significant that I imagined.

And believe me, in this business one learns to imagine quite a lot!

I am leaning toward the latter; in which case (for future reference) this is the signal for the eruptions of both Popocatepetl and Sabancaya. (And Panscope, in Voltaire's satire Candide, was was right about tele-connections.)

Erie, Pennsylvania hit the news this week after its all-time daily snowfall record got shattered on Monday, December 25, 2017. That day, a potent storm dumped 86.3 cm (34 inches) of snow at Erie Airport which is more than four times its previous record for December 25 - 20.5 cm (8.1 inches).

The amount also smashed the city's snowiest single day record of 50.8 cm (20 inches) recorded on December 11, 1956.

I will have to think how to frame a search of my own, unfortunately my brain is not fully functional. It never is after these things. It performs a not unpleasant relaxation piece of peace.

Problem:

Missing forecasts on both NAEFS and the Met Office at 05:50?

I got the NAEFS earlier but not the North Atlantic
the loading of the earlier one was sticky especially around the 9th January 2018.

This was due to Waterfox not opening them. They functioned on Firefox.
The NA-EFS shows the Rocky Mountain High is not blocked after the 11th January 2018.

What do I mean by "gale force earthquake"?
Any magnitude greater than5.5 is an earthquake that can be related to a tropical storm as per: Hilda in Australia:

The phenomenon relates the Beaufort Scale to Froude Numbers where the velocity of ships is gauged by their wakes. All I have done was extend the time period in 3 or 4 hour intervals* adding a Beaufort Number to each period. The length of the interval denotes the energy value of the expected storm.

Once it is hotter/more energetic than a Tropical Storm large enough to garner a name, the next phenomena produced is revolving magma in a chamber. When a magma chamber can be induced to rotate, the walls of the dyke containing is are subject to stress changes (presumably due to the rotation itself but also with contact with steam induced into the vortex.)

Just a theory but look to see that the next tropical storm arrives while the first is extant AND the second one grows large enough to be a nuisance.
It's all about the timing.

Presumably I need to explain to you the relative guesswork involved.
I did know the time intervals for these periods as you can see from a search through Usenet prior to this recent part of the multi-decadal cycle. However If the period has changed due to the cycle or there is some controversial issue related to Terror Weapons, I am not ready to say.

Obviously the component values can be reached/guesstimated if the terror weapons are no longer used or if they continue in use past the sell-by date of the multidecadal cycle.

My brain is screwing-up with the weather/geophysics so I can no longer tolerate typing at a keyboard nor see what I am looking at, so I hope that what I have written will suffice for the moment.

I am not sure that is what is happening. When the upper atmosphere drinks up warm air in the Arctic or sub-Arctic, it outputs an huge amount of very pure water deionised water that will not freeze until it is supercooled.

That is the source of chemtrails, as it it arrives in lower altitudes it warms and mixes with dirtier air which allows mixing and removes the pure state.

The delta front coming out of this is a classic Tornadic set up if it passes between two anticyclones they will produce an horrendous amount of damage.

Hang in with this stuff as there is a blocking high operating on the Rockies at the moment that should not be there so when it breaks -at perhaps the new moon on the 28th? it will clear the air.

Watch the development of the T+120 chart over these next few days. T+120 is five days out. From noon on the 25th. that means the phenomenon has been held in abeyance for something like a full 2 days and it still doesn't give a clear signal.

I should be watching for contiguous Lows or Highs running in a straight line most likely with these two laqrge Lows on the first chart.
The NA-ES is not very good for long ranges over three days.
